AFTER hitting the jackpot with Sex and the City, its writer Candace Bushnell has authored yet another runaway hit, Lipstick Jungle on at Star World every Saturday and Sunday at 10 pm. A major attraction is its lead star Brooke Shields who plays Wendy Healy and her two best friends Victory Ford (Lindsay Price) and Nico Reilly (Kim Raver). The snappy series explores the chic world of these three super successful New York women. Wendy is a film studio exec trying to balance between work and family. Victory is a fashion designer trying to revive her career and at the same time ward off advances of a billionaire. Nico is a journalist trying to escape a loveless marriage by having an affair with a much younger man. The series, an insider’s view of the lives of Manhattan’s high-powered women, is a substantive mix of compelling drama and witty comedy.

THE Asian adaptation of four-time Emmy Award-winning reality series, The Amazing Race, is is on every Wednesday at 11 a.m. on AXN. This series shows 22 competitors who are in a planet-wide quest to beat overwhelming odds and cliffhanger challenges so as to win a race around the world. Dubbed as the toughest race ever, the focus is not on the locations, but on the challenges the teams must face. A host guides the teams along their adventure to reach the finishing line. The winner takes home a whopping $1 million prize. Restricted plane travel and strict budgets add to the pressure, as teams are forced to rely on wit and ingenuity, travel on buses, trains, boats, taxis, bicycles, even camels. NF
