Daniel Craig plays a historian in Archangel
Daniel Craig plays a historian in Archangel, who will uncover one of Russia’s most closely guarded and unimaginable national secrets

IT’s a 32,000-km journey that has taken him to 25 countries across three continents. From Ireland to Australia, Charley Boorman travels by various means to reach his destinations. By Any Means—India to Nepal on Tuesday at 10 pm on the National Geographic channel shows Charley and his crew explore Delhi on a ubiquitous three-wheeler and then from Delhi to Agra and to Varanasi on the banks of the river Ganga. Following a rickshaw ride through the bustling streets, Charley then heads to the Nepalese border, where he drives through the rain-soaked muddy streets in a classic Ambassador taxi. In Nepal he rides a tractor, a multi-coloured local bus and a dugout canoe all the way to the Chitwan National Park.

History’s mystery

This is a fascinating thriller about a British professor, who discovers some startling truths about Josef Stalin. Archangel on Saturday at 8 pm on the History and Entertainment channel is a fast-paced mystery set in Russia. The series, based on Robert Hariss’ best-selling novel, explores the lingering presence of Stalin amidst the corruption of modern-day Russia.

Professor Fluke Kelso — played brilliantly by Daniel (James Bond) Craig — a historian, is leaving Russia for good until a surprise visit from Papu Rukanva, a former NKVD officer, reveals some information that could help him uncover one of Russia’s most closely guarded and unimaginable national secrets.
