Kath & Kim: This comedy revolves around a mother and a daughter and their dysfunctional relationship

THIS is a hilarious American adaptation of an Australia comedy TV series. Kath and Kim every Friday at 8 pm on Star World revolves around a mother- daughter’s dysfunctional relationship. Kath, is a happy-go-lucky forty-something mother who shares a love-hate relationship with her emotionally neurotic daughter Kim, recently separated from her husband after six week of marriage. Kim moves back home derailing her single mom’s blossoming romance. Soon enough the daughter falls in love with a sandwich shop owner Phil Knight. And then starts the fun with the mother trying to get rid of the daughter and she refusing to budge. The series showcases the underbelly of middleclass America with a charged up streak of comedy.

Trendy yoga

Dating back to the pre-Vedic times yoga is a union of the mind, body and soul. The science of yoga has now gained universal acceptance and become a subject of intense research in some of the leading universities in the world. Although a conventional yoga course is the best way to learn, many new avatars have sprouted up to suit the convenience of people in a hurry. One of them is Namaste Yoga on Discovery Travel & Living every Monday at 6 P.M. The series combines sensual and dramatic photography with models performing Hatha yoga asanas. It has been compiled by Kate Potter who has trained in India under yoga teachers at the University of Mysore and is herself a yoga teacher and therapist. Hatha Yoga is based on breathing and the postures are both challenging and gentle under the guidance of experts. — NF
