This one-time royal prince discovered that ignorance was the origin of human miseries and preached an Eightfold path to attain nirvana. The Life of Lord Buddha on Thursday at 9 pm on the Fox History and Entertainment Channel follows the life and times of Lord Buddha. The programme follows his life, right from his birth to all the places where his wanderings took him for his discourses – Sanchi, Sarnath, Bodhgaya Khushinagar etc. With the aid of graphics, experts’ testimony and the latest archaeological findings, this episode recreates the life of the man who changed the course of history of mankind.

Testing ties

Robin Williams stars in License to Wed on Saturday at 9 pm on HBO as the loony Reverend Frank, who comes in the way of two lovebirds Ben Murphy (John Krasinski) and Sadie Jones (Mandy Moore).
