The Koti Benal architecture, the traditional housing pattern of Uttarakashi in Uttarakhand that has withstood several earthquakes and the test of time, is being included in the World Housing Encyclopaedia (WHE), USA.

Mussoorie facing acute water shortage
There are seven pumping stations serving Mussoorie having a capacity of 7.51 million litres per day although the town’s demand of water in peak season stands at around 13 million litres per day.

Nearly half of Mussoorie has had little to cheer this Diwali due to acute water shortage over the past one week. Breakdown in power supply to a major water pumping station of the city has led to this debacle. Although Jal Sansthan officials have assured to resume the water supply at the earliest but this incident has opened a pandora’s box.

IIT alumni function ends
Roorkee, November 2
The jubilee function of the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee Alumni Association (IITRAA) ended on Sunday at the institute here. Around 150 alumni along with their families had gathered in the IIT for the function. The annual function was organised to felicitate the diamond, golden and silver jubilee alumni.
