AFTER the saas-bahu invasion, youth is back on the television with most channels showing its romantic side and fun and frolic. Miley Jab Hum Tum, a young-at-heart serial, is on air from Monday to Thursday at 9 pm on Star Plus. The serial revolves around the lives of six young college-goers, their passions and anxieties and their romances and insecurities. It looks into the influence of society and the western culture on shaping the lives of these students. Though there have been several serials about college students but Miley Jab Hum Tum is a throwback on those carefree college days where the most serious concerns ranged from clothes to attitude. Young people will instantly identify with it. Mystic Kumbh The National Geographic
Channel shows the Kumbh Mela in Inside Nirvana on Sunday at 8 pm.
It has been hailed as one of the greatest festivals of the world. A
temporary city rises on the banks of River Ganga to house pilgrims and
sadhus who come in tens of millions to take a holy dip. A visit to the
Allahbad at this time showcases what spiritual life means to the teeming
masses of one-fifth of the world population. The Kumbh comes in cycles
of six and 12 years, called Ardh Kumbh and Purna Kumbh, respectively.
Both are spectacles of piety and faith over the centuries. — NF
