under-achievers. When he wanted to cut an album he was turned away by
Virgin records. When he finally came out with his remix album, MTV
refused to play it. Years later now, Ayush Maheshwari is the celebrity
anchor of the Big Indian Show produced by Ekta Kapoor and
Suniel Shetty and to be aired on 9X. His is the true story of an
underdog who failed his Class Xll exam, dropped out of a hotel
management course but vowed never to give up. He went to the US,
finished his studies and again approached Virgin. This time the
company gave him a chance. The result was a popular album Motu
Badtameez. The Big Indian Show is Ayush’s big break. It’s
a ‘real reality show’ loosely based on The Oprah Winfrey Show.
