Sharmaji was furious, "It is disgraceful! How could jailed convicts decide the fate of the nuclear deal?" I tried to pacify him, "Look, the deal is about producing electricity and they also feel the dire need of electricity in jails." He said, "These Yadavs and Pappus don't know the ABC of the clauses of the nuclear deal." I said, "Sharmaji, not just them but many of the MPs don't know anything much about the deal." "The way the wads of notes with Gandhiji's pictures on them were shown to prove that crores of rupees were offered to buy MPs, was quite shameful," he grumbled. I said, "I am with you there. It was shameful indeed. The deal being an international one the bribe money should have at least been in dollars." Sharmaji further grumbled, "Whether you agree or not, Dr Manmohan Singh has been the weakest Prime Minister ever." I said, "Looks like Advani ji's spirit seems to have possessed you. Why do you think him to be weak? Does he have a shortage of vitamins or calcium? Didn't he show the victory sign with full gusto after the trust vote? You can't expect a Prime Minister to remove his jacket, whirl around and fling at the Speaker." Sharmaji moaned
helplessly, "Now nobody can stop India from coming under the
American influence. We will no more be non-aligned." I told
Sharma ji not to get so serious, "I am feeling hungry, let's have
some idli sambar." He said, "What about having a burger at
MacDonald's?"
