Gorillas In The Mist on Wednesday at 9 pm on HBO revolves around the real-life story of American anthropologist Dian Fossey, who fights to save the endangered African gorillas from extinction at the hands of deadly poachers in Rwanda (now Congo). Self-assured, passionate and fiercely independent, Fossey lives dangerously with the fast-vanishing mountain gorillas in their own rugged world, becoming their friend and protector. The movie was marketed with the tagline`85"At the far ends of the earth she found a reason to live, and a cause to fight for`85" Sigourney Weaver, who plays Fossey, was nominated for an Oscar for her portrayal of a woman who lived and died for the gentle giants.

Troubled reality

Trouble seems to be brewing in yet another reality show. Tension is mounting among contestants in Kabhii Kabhii Pyaar Kabhi Kabhii Yaar on Sony (Wednesday-Thursday) at 8 pm. Problems arose in the thematic section called ‘seduction’ when the participants played out very intimate scenes much to the discomfort of their real life partners. Though everyone tried to be very casual and normal but the expressions on the faces of real-life spoues/ girlfriends/boyfriends said it all when their partners were performing with others on-stage. Whether it was Teejays frowning face or Priya’s grim visage, the strain was palpable. Krushna Abhishek was the only one who spoke his mind while the judges were appreciating the sizzling chemistry between Kashmira Shah and Mukul Dev. He said that he did not like to share his girl Kashmira with others. But since they are participating he now has no choice but to follow the format. — NF
