Summer heat

This summer is so hot

I miss winter a lot

First I thought I could do

with some Coke

But then, it has many a

drawback allege some folk

With sweat pouring down my neck

I cannot enjoy my vacation

Oh! this summer

Is increasing my frustration

Nor can I play

With my back wet with sweat

Bathing all day

Is much better yet

And then, the fan is not at all sympathetic

Oh! the number of power cuts

It’s just pathetic

This summer is not nice

All I can do is drink

lemonade with ice

Oh! this sweat, down

the neck it trickles

How I wish I could have a Popsicle

It is so hot, day and night

It is affecting my massive appetite

I avoid hot eatables these days

I am getting thinner day-by-day

This summer is driving me crazy

This summer is making me lazy

Ice-cream vendor

When summer is heating the city

One sight is very pretty

It is that of an ice-cream vendor selling chilled softy

Don’t worry one ice-cream won’t make you fatty

All the flavours are there with this man in his cart

Vanilla, strawberry,

chocolate ..hmmmm!

Does any one like to part?

The children gather around

And saying Ya! I have found

My favourite flavour is strawberry

Add to it some chocolate chips

Water trickles down my lips

In this scorching summer heat

Which this man has to beat

To earn some rupees

And to make the children please

So let us have its tasty bite

And preserve it as our right
