Hike in school bus charges from July 1

The Chandigarh School Bus Operators’ Welfare Association has planned out a hike of Rs 50 in the school bus charges from July 1. Manjeet Singh, president of the association, said due to increase in the rate of diesel, lubricants, tyres and spare parts, the increase had become unavoidable.

600 principals to discuss college funding

Panjab University is going to guide the managements and authorities of all the colleges in Punjab, on various funding agencies available apart from the UGC in a principals’ meet on July 3. The university for the first time in the history is going to organise a joint meet on the directions of Punjab Chief Minister, Parkash Singh Badal. Around 600 principals from all colleges from Punjab, irrespective of the universities they are affiliated with would be attending the meet.

Students’ body rolls out free info booklet

For the convenience of students, Indian National Students Organisation (INSO), has come out with a free information booklet of various courses provided by Panjab
University. Disclosing this at a press conference today, INSO chairman Sukhdev Kundu said around 40,000 such booklets had been published for free distribution in PU and all city colleges of the university.
