Rhyme Time
Western trends

We raise a hue and cry against air, water and noise pollution,

Trying our level best to find some viable solution.

But what about our cultural pollution?

Which needs immediate resolution.

This pollution is caused by a ‘pest’.

And that wicked pest is the ‘West’.

Alas! We are following western trends and fashion,

And being indifferent to our glorious cultural tradition.

Moral values are being bargained,

For the sake of money and fame.

The fondness for junk food among children,

Is West’s vicious contribution.

Real India was the one in olden times,

Where there were no such trends, and crimes.

Simplicity and innocence was the way of life,

People shared bonds and ties.

Where has our glorious culture gone now,

We need to bring it back somehow.

Best creation

Female foeticide is an evil in society,

By killing female foetus, how can we face the Almighty?

We call India, our mother,

Why do we slaughter her unborn daughter?

We kill the baby girl with a sharp instrument,

But she is the world's best ornament.

Sons alone can't continue your family,

So, the daughter's birth, let's celebrate gaily.

A girl is more helpful than a boy,

Yet we celebrate a boy's birth with more joy.

Laws are there against sex-determination test,

But many continue to kill the new guest.

Heed the cry of the newborn,

Women! Beware and think before you abort.

As a girl is His best creation,

And she's the future and pride of our nation.
