Colour of the cop

WHEN a policeman reads an astrological column "Your lucky colour today will be green or blue" he must be cursing himself "Oh my God, why did I ever have to wear khaki colour? A criminal is surely going to slip away from my custody today".

If colours have that effect on one’s personality, psychology and fate, why should men in khaki be deprived of it? The Himachal Pradesh Police Department has decided to shed the khaki colour and give its force a blue uniform. Some of them born under the Taurus and Libra zodiac sign will be luckier with blue and others may not get as handsome bribes as they had been getting when they wore khaki.

According to Himachal Pradesh DGP Ashwani Kumar, this change in the colour of the uniform would definitely make the force appear more friendly.

I would suggest a colourful uniform so that policemen look more cheerful and acceptable. People should feel like dancing with the havildar instead of fearing him. The police should also use colourful lathis during a lathi charge so that scenes of merciless beating should not appear too dreadful on TV channels.
