Without creating the hype of the Indian Idol, this show has been quietly scaling the popularity charts and is heading for the number one slot among all shows on Sony Entertainment Network. K For Kishore on Fridays and Saturdays at 9 pm on Sony is not just creating a musical dhoom for the diehard Kishore Kumar fans but for millions of other viewers hooked to musical reality shows. The highlight of the show was the guest appearance of Kumar Sanu and Alka Yagnik who lit up the show with evergreen hits like Tere mere milan ki yeh raina...and Tumse badhkar duniya mein.... The judges led by Kishore Kumar’s son Amit Kumar, Bhappi Lahiri and Sudesh Bhosle — the duo who completed all the unfinished songs after the great singer’s demise — are adding their bit to the fun with interesting anecdotes and little-known facts about the singer. "It’s a musical show with a difference," says Bhosle and adds, "just like Kishore Da who was a singer with a difference." Vacation time Time was when viewers couldn’t have enough of her. From Banegi Apni Baat to Saaya, Maan and Dhadkan, it was Achint Kaur’s one big, extended love affair with the small screen. All that is in the past now. Though Achint played the malicious Mandira in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, the wily Pallavi in Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki and more recently the vicious Vedika of Virrudh, she currently has no projects and is just chilling out. And chilling out how! She is just back from a European vacation and is now planning to take off for an extended holiday to Malaysia. There have been plenty of offers but Achint is taking her time choosing. "I am enjoying my freedom. I don’t want to rush into roles. I am looking for something that’s a challenge. So far I haven’t found any." And till she gets her kind of role, life is one long vacation for her. — NF
