Rhyme Time
Dream girl
I was upstairs and
it was a cloudy night.
With my telescope
and all my might
I longed to see
the stars but couldn’t fight
A miracle happened
and an angel desended from the skies.
Her face was like
a moon, stars were her eyes,
A downpour began
and I was lost in her sea-deep eyes,
As she gave me a
loving smile.
Silence was
broken, lightening was there,
I expressed my
feelings but she couldn’t hear.
My heartbeat rose
as I kissed her face
She understood
what I said in that phase.
Nothing was heard
nor uttered
It was the
language of love in which I reached out to her.

My country
What a glorious
past India had,
No one knew what
it meant to be sad.
Waves of
positivity were all around,
With empathy
relations were bound.
Where has
happiness gone away?
Clouds of hatred
have kept it at bay.
What pours down is
the rain of tears,
Grief has replaced
the life of cheer.
Instead of
brotherhood, casteism has taken room,
Spiritless are the
faces that ought to bloom.
Still persist
child labour, terrorism and corruption,
A plethora of
evils does make up an ailing nation.
Let’s strive for
an India where there is affection,
Where one is above
gender and faction.
Where humanity is
religion and all are only Indians,
Where the people
of my land are rational and literate,
The day we’ll
carve out our niche with dignity,
The world will see
the rise of a model entity.
