Union Information Technology and Communication Minister A. Raja has inaugurated the fifth Apparel Training and Design Centre at Perambalur to empower women and employable youth. Sponsored by the Apparel Export Promotion Council under the Union Textiles Ministry, the Perambalur facility is the 38th such centre in the country. The centre, commissioned on the premises of the Poomalai Marketing Complex with machinery and teaching equipment worth Rs 30 lakh provided by the district administration, will offer sewing machine operator training.
