IT’S Christmas Eve and everyone is filled with holiday cheer — except Shrek. He isn’t exactly the picture of yuletide joy, but for the sake of Fiona and the kids, he tries to get into the spirit of things as only an ogre can. Everyone seems to have their own ideas about what Christmas is all about. But when Donkey, Puss In Boots, Gingerbread Man and the whole gang try to join in the fun, Shrek’s plans for a cozy family celebration end up spiralling into one truly unforgettable Christmas. THEY’VE arguably made some of the most successful serials on the small screen that include Banegi Apni Baat, Jassi Jaise Koi Nahin and Left Right Left. Now Deeya and Tony Singh are all set to hit off with a brand new show, Annu Ki Ho Gayee Waah Bhai Waah, from Monday to Thursday on Star One at 8 pm The serial introduces a cast of fresh faces with Srrejita De — who made a forgettable debut in Kasuati Zindagi Kay — playing the main lead Annu, an introverted Punjabi young girl. Annu has almost magical hands when it comes to making finger-licking dishes that can cheer the saddest heart and bring a smile on an angry face. The backdrop of the serial is a posh restaurant with Italian d`E9cor and the story primarily revolves around two families which meet in the restaurant and the love angle that develops between the protagonists. An interesting idea that certainly merits viewer indulgence. One just hopes this is not stretched the way Jassi was. — NF
