Chavvi Mittal … living up to expectations
Chavvi Mittal … living up to expectations

SHE’S becoming exceedingly popular in the musical reality show Jhoom India (Friday and Saturday at 9 pm) on Sahara One. And even though Chhavi Mittal has been not been very regular with her riaz, she still manages to sing as if she has been practising for sometime. The expectations are immense not only from the judges but also from the audiences. Not many know that Chavvi actually started out as a singer and that it was while singing for Doordarshan that her producers advised her to pursue a career in acting. She got a break when she was asked to anchor a show for Sahara called Bollywood Aur Kya. Then came Tumhari Disha, which brought her countless fans.

Chhavi, who has done Masters in Indian classical music, says, "Singing is all about practice; it’s not about doing something alone. I left practice some 10 years ago and I’m trying hard to live up to their expectations. Hope the judges take into account that all this while I was not doing my riaz." — NF
