Life of a dancer

Rudolf Nureyev, one of the greatest male ballet dancers of the 20th century, not only flirted with Jackie Kennedy, but went a step further with her sister Lee Radziwill, reveals a new biography. In Rudolf Nureyev: The Life, biographer Julie Kavanagh tells how Jackie Kennedy ordered a private plane to ferry the dancer to the White House after watching him perform with Margot Fonteyn on his first tour of America with the Royal Ballet in 1963. And, as the dancers had tea at the White House, Nureyev sat in the president’s rocking chair.

The biography also tells Jackie gave him financial advice after her marriage to Aristotle Onassis, as well as made sure that his trip to the USSR went "smoothly" when he returned to his home country in 1987.

"The first real money he made was under Jackie’s influence. She’s the one who made him buy gold just before gold went up to thousands," Timesonline quoted a source, as saying in the book. The book also reveals that Jackie O had to share Nureyev with none other than her sister Lee Radziwill, and that the latter even got pregnant with the dancer’s baby, even though he was gay.

"(He was) ninety-nine and a half per cent homosexual" He even told a confidante that he had made her pregnant: "And what do you think she did? She destroyed my baby." Lee however insists this is untrue. She does, however, admit to having been completely besotted by Nureyev. — ANI
