When he made a sequel to Jurassic Park, Steven Spielberg said, "There’s never the right formula when you are making a sequel. The original film doing good business is no assurance that the next one would be a hit as well." The quote holds true for many Indian serial makers. There are sequels to some of the most successful serials, including Hum Paanch, Nukkad, Tu Tu Main Main, Office Office and now, Dill Mill Gayye. The common feature about them is that they are all flops. Though a sequel to a hit does usually ensure a good opening, the chemistry for high TRPs remains the same — a powerful storyline, good performances and a racy script.
