Odd couples

Yes Dear… when two is not company
Yes Dear… when two is not company

It’s a comedy about two young couples and their outrageously contrasting views on parenting. Star World brings the all-new season of Yes Dear on Mondays at 9.30 p.m.

Greg and Jean Warner are a young, neurotic, do-it-all-perfectly yuppie couple. In contrast, Kim’s sister Christine and her husband Jimmy are working class parents whose views on raising children are completely the opposite.

While Kim is determined to be the perfect mother and perfect wife who wants to raise perfect children, Christine is a very down-to-earth mother of two kids who continually keep reminding her that life will never be perfect. Christine’s husband, Jimmy, believes that one can be a good father while still remaining a man.

So watch the two squabble over whose philosophy is right. And the winners in the end — as it usually happens — are the children!

Rolling Stones (Jagger third from left)…rolls on

They are the greatest rock band in the world. In an ongoing career starting in 1962 when they took London’s Marquee Club by storm they have produced scores of hits, played at hundreds of stadiums worldwide and spawned an army of fans, imitators and detractors.

Meet the Rolling Stones, whose members are music legends unto themselves. The Rolling Stones —- Truth & Lies, (July 12 at 10 pm) on History Channel is about Mick Jagger and his band that has inspired wild yells from millions of fans and gasps of horror from the establishment.

In this lively programme you will hear from their contemporaries, fans and critics about the songs, the scandals, the crises and the excesses and also see the news footage and interviews that helped make them who they are. After over 45 years, 24 albums and 437 songs, they are still both the most famous and most infamous band of all. This show covers the period from the formation of the band in 1961 to the start of the Forty Lick tour in 2002. — NF
