Mozart's widow

A print of the only photograph to ever capture legendary German composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's widow has come to light in the archives of a town in the musician’s native country.

The long-lost photograph of Mozart’s widow Constanze Weber was taken in 1840 at the home of the composer Max Keller when she was 78 years old.

And, the state archive in the town of Altoettingen insists that the photograph captures the only time she agreed to pose before the camera, reports Contactmusic.

Mozart and Constanze married in 1782, and had six children. Weber was 29 years old when Mozart passed away in 1791. She went on to wed Danish diplomat Georg Nissen and died in 1842. — ANI
