Oops! This is the wrong way
Faux pas or ignorance? Office-bearers of the District Congress Committee of Jalandhar seemed to be asking this to each other after the rally of the Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh, was over at the PAP complex in Jalandhar on Monday. The party is in a fix after the rally that how the pictures of Dr Manmohan Singh and the Chief Minister, Capt Amarinder Singh, got printed on posters showing their turbans tied the wrong way. (Actually, the turban is tied from left to right, but in the photos it is the other way) Interestingly, the picture of the PPCC chief, Mr Shamsher Singh Dullo, on the posters showed the turban tied in the right way. The posters also contained the photo of the Congress chief, Ms Sonia Gandhi. “I am amazed to see the posters. It seemed the party activists have no idea or the knowledge about the printing of the posters,” said a leader of the party, on condition of anonymity, when he was pointed out the discrepancy. He said the printer actually flipped the photos of the Chief Minister and the Prime Minister as they were looking outside the posters. When their photos were flipped their faces turned inward but their turbans pointed outward. Sources in the party said the posters were got printed by the new DCC chief, Mr Arun Walia, from a local printer. |
