500 examined at polio check up and surgery camp

Ludhiana, November 19
Nearly 500 physically challenged persons were examined and 85 among them were selected for corrective surgery at a free polio check-up and surgery camp, organised by the Narayan Sewa Sansthan of Udaipur at the Community Centre in Aggar Nagar here today.

In addition to medical check-up and consultation for corrective surgery to the physically challenged , the organisers distributed 25 tricycles, 5 wheel chairs and 20 calipers to needy persons on this occasion.

400 patients examined at camp

At least 400 patients were examined at a free medical camp at Bajwa Nagar here yesterday. Dr G.S. Wander of the HDHI urged patients to avoid smoking and exercise regularly.

Dr Rajoo Singh Chhina of the DMCH emphasised on hygiene, cleanliness and proper vaccination.

Technicians conducted free ECG and blood sugar tests and medicines were distributed free of cost.

Gurvinder declared Man of Series

Mandi Ahmedgarh, November 19
Gurvinder Singh and Sukhwinder Kaur were declared Man of Series and Woman of Series, respectively, at 4th Sabina Cup Cricket Tournament which concluded at Shanti Tara College and Collegiate Public School here yesterday.

Sukhwinder Eleven and Deep Eleven were declared winners in their respective categories.

According to Mr Charan Preep Dua, convener of the event, Sukhwinder Eleven and Deep Eleven emerged winners by defeating Sandip Eleven and Jagdev Eleven, respectively, in the final matches . More than 12 teams had participated in the event that continued for three days.

The prize distribution function was presided over by Mr Rajinder Singh Kanjhla, district president, SAD, and Mr Abdul Gaffar, former minister, was the chief guest.

Mr Prem Gupta, Chairman of the Trust, and Mr Ajay Batra Principal, appreciated the role of social and political leaders of the area for inspiring people to admit their wards in their institute.

Mandeep Singh, Jagdev Singh, Navdeep Singh, Ranjit Singh and Vikas Verma were declared Men of respective matches.
