Bits & bytes
Online quiz on France

The Indo-French Centre for the Promotion of Advanced Research (IFCPAR) is once again organising, with the active help of the Government of France and the Government of India, an online Quiz on October 15, 2006.

The format of the quiz is similar to the one organised two years ago. However, this time an additional category has been added to invite participation from undergraduate students in India, in additional to students from Class VIII to Class XI. This particular category has been included as the Trade Commission of the French Embassy in India would like to build brand ambassadors among this age group.

The quiz is being organised to commemorate the 20 years of bilateral cooperation between France and India in science and technology through the Centre.

The top few participants to the online quiz would be selected for the final round to be held in New Delhi later this year. Outstanding ones among these would be taken on a week-long orientation tour of France to expose them to French culture and civilisation. The expenses for the travel and stay would be met by the Centre.

On the website www.indiafrancequiz.com, a question bank of around 450 sample questions have already been posted. The final 100 questions for this quiz would be selected from these. The 100 questions would have to be answered within 60 minutes on the day the quiz opens. — TNS
