A rare small screen honour for Yash Chopra
A rare small screen honour for Yash Chopra

One of the most successful directors, he has given crucial breaks to two of Bollywood’s biggest superstars — Amitabh Bachchan and Shahrukh Khan.

Nearly five decades after his directorial debut with Dhool Ke Phool, Yash Chopra’s magic continues.

Channel 4, a popular UK channel, is paying tribute to Yash Chopra through a film festival dedicated to him.

Titled ‘The Magic of Yash Chopra’, the festival will feature movies produced and directed by the legendary filmmaker. To be aired every Monday till November 6, the festival will feature some of his super hit films like Veer-Zaara, Dil To Pagal Hai and Darr.

No other Indian filmmaker has had a festival devoted to him or her on one of the most important TV channels in the world.

Said Chopra, "I am truly grateful for this honour. I’ve always made films for a global audience and this special festival reaffirms my belief. I am really humbled." NF
