Ludhiana, August 23
More than 125 patients were examined at a free dental check up and provided free medicines at a camp organised by the Lions Club, Ludhiana, at Lord Mahavira Homeopathic Medical College here yesterday.

Lion Dr Manmohan Singh, chairman, inaugurated the camp, held under the supervision of Dr Ravinder Kochhar.

A team of doctors and supporting staff, headed by Dr Shashi Juneja, examined the patients, who were given tips on oral hygiene.

Besides Dr R.K. Verma, secretary of the club, Mr Yash Pal Ghai, Dr R.K. Garg, Mr R.K. Miglani, Mr S.K. Sood, Mr K.S. Attrey, Mr C.L. Chandok, Dr Ashok Puri and Mr K.D. Malhotra were present.

Ludhiana, August 23
A two-day divisional-level badminton tournament of the Life Insurance Corporation of India was organised here at Shastri Hall of Guru Nanak Stadium here. Employees from eight local branches besides those from Samrala, Jagraon and Mansa divisions competed in the tournament which was conducted under the supervision of Mr Giainder Singh Sandhu, District Sports Officer, Ludhiana.

Sunil Kumar of the Mansa branch office got the better of Vineet Kumar from Jagraon, while Amarjit Singh of Ludhiana divisional office outclassed Sanjiv Kalia representing Ludhiana (unit II) branch office.

On the basis of their performance, Sunil Kumar and Amarjit Singh have qualified for the LIC of India North Zone Badminton Tournament slated to be held at Shimla on September 13 and 14.
