IIM opens campus in Noida

THE country’s premier Indian Institute of Management has opened a new campus in the industrial township of Noida, aimed at providing managerial training to the vast technical workforce coming up in the satellite city adjoining the national capital.

The Noida campus, a part of IIM-Lucknow, is primarily aimed at executive training courses for working people.

"The academic structure has been designed through many consultative rounds within the academia and the industry and we are proud to extend the excellence of IIM-Lucknow to NCR region," Devi Singh, Director of IIM-Lucknow said in recently.

"IIM-Lucknow is ensuring that its students are given a high-level exposure to the contemporary business processes and modern business tools.

"The idea behind starting executive management programme at NOIDA campus is to blend the candidate’s rich work experience with the conceptual ideas and strategic inputs for achieving excellent business results," he said.

The campus, coming up on 20 acre of land in Sector 62, will have a well-equipped library, a modern computer centre, an automated programme office, class room block, furnished hostels with single-seated bachelor accommodation, a large students’ mess furnished with modern kitchen equipment, a medical centre and a guest house.

It is also equipped with open-air courts for outdoor games like tennis, volley ball, basketball and also a sports complex for indoor games.

Course on data warehousing

Infitech Global on Monday launched a comprehensive course on Data Warehousing.

The course has been designed to acquire advanced skills for becoming a skilled Data Warehouse Specialist, a company statement issued in Bangalore said.

The course structure would encompass the entire technicalities and process of designing and managing data, it said.

NIIT Tech campus to start soon

The IT solutions provider NIIT Technologies’ campus in Greater Noida will become operational in the next 18 months, company officials said in New Delhi recently.

"The first phase of the campus spread over an area of 20 acres will become operational in the next 18 months," NIIT Technologies Chief Executive Officer Arvind Thakur said.

He said the company will be spending close to Rs 100 crore on the campus in the first phase and would have the capacity to house close to 3000 people.

The company at present has 3,300 employees. "When the entire campus is operational, it will have a capacity of 12,000 people," he said. — PTI
