Say cheat
Jaspal Bhatti

LAST week, I went to visit my cousin. Since he was not at home, I asked his wife where was ‘Masterji’. That was his nickname as he was the only teacher in the family.

"Bhai saab, he is really busy due to examination days," his wife explained proudly.

"Is he busy taking tuitions?" I asked.

She clarified, "No, he has to go to examination centres to help his students in cheating."

Cheating has become so common and matter of fact these days that in some schools it has become mandatory for the staff to supply cheating material to the students for mind-blowing results.

In Haryana, more than 60 cases of use of unfair means and other instances of cheating in the National Open School (NOS) examinations have been registered by the flying squad constituted by the Hisar administration.

The NOS team from Delhi also made a video recording of the examination centres while the examinations were in progress.

Many students on hearing this news flocked the market, inquiring about the video film in the hope that it was probably a film on the methodology and techniques of cheating in examinations.

The day is not far off when one will find advertisements in newspapers which says: "Join our academy for brilliant results. We provide the best guidance in procuring leaked papers and the best support in answering questions in examination halls".
