Question paper distribution delayed
Tribune News Service

Chandigarh, April 15
Widespread resentment reigned among the B. Sc (Electronics) students of Shri Guru Gobind Singh College, Sector 26, today as the question paper of ‘Principles of Communication Systems’ was distributed among them an hour late.

As many as nine students who took the examination complained that the distribution of the paper was delayed and the questions were just scribbled on a piece of paper.

Talking to Chandigarh Tribune, Robin, one of the students, said the question paper was not typed and it appeared as if the questions had been hurriedly written.

Nimish, another student too rued that the entire paper was more theoretical and the technical aspect of the paper was ignored.

According to Sonika, though the paper was lengthy and was distributed late, the students were constantly asked to hurriedly finish the paper.

Meanwhile, the college Principal, Dr Kuldeep Singh, when contacted, said he would look into the matter and send a representation to the university if required.

Tribune News Service

Chandigarh, April 15
The Department of Information Technology, through the Society for Promotion of IT in Chandigarh (SPIC), entered into an agreement with Sebiz Infotech, Mohali, to jointly establish, maintain and operate an e-learning curriculum carrying out training programmes via the internet or CDs.

An official press note said Sebiz Infotech would use its own training delivery methodology in consultation with SPIC. Sebiz would be an authorised provider of online, internet, CD, and electronic training to students undergoing the Chandigarh Training on Soft Skills programme (C-TOSS) in the city and the region. This agreement would help SPIC to take its C-TOSS training programme to even bigger and higher level. This would help those students who did not have the training agreement in their colleges as this would now be available online.

The C-TOSS programme has eight modules, which includes Voice and Accent Training, Communication Skills, Customer Service, Telesales, Global Culture, Soft Skills and Computer Proficiency. This programme is already running successfully in schools and colleges of Chandigarh, besides SPIC is also running this programme in colleges and schools of Haryana under an agreement with the Education Department of Haryana.
