Toast of the ’90s

 Kudos to Spice Girls
Kudos to Spice Girls

In a poll commissioned by Trivial Pursuit on 1,000 people as it launched a 1990s’ version of the game, the Spice Girls have been voted as the biggest cultural icons of that decade. Eight out of 10 Brits questioned in the poll put Girl Power top of the list, edging out rock guru Kurt Cobain, who killed himself in 1994, and Liz Hurley, rocketed to fame by "that dress".

Gazza’s anguish when he was booked in the 1990 World Cup semi- final against Germany was deemed the most memorable sporting moment.

And while Quentin Tarantino’s classic Pulp Fiction was crowned most memorable film, the first Gulf War was voted the biggest news story.

The Millennium Dome was named the most memorable mistake of the decade, reports The Mirror. — ANI
