Ludhiana, March 18
Samita Munjal is a promising designer who has already held a number of exhibitions and has won critical acclaim. Recently she held a two-day exhibition of her latest creations. Her collection comprised Indian and western clothes. She said although it was her maiden exhibition in the city, she had got good exposure in other cities.

She maintained that while designing demanded innovation, she had always been trying to retain a balance with tradition. Designing could not ignore tradition, she said. This was adequately displayed during the exhibition.

She said designing was no ordinary job. It demanded a lot of creativity. "You think, you conceptualise and then you create while ensuring that it caters to the public taste as well. The exhibition in itself was a mix of tradition and the modern," she said.
