as the war of the news channels gets fiercer, newer channels are
crowding the air waves every few weeks. From CNN-IBN to Times Now, from

as new channels emerge by the day one thing is for sure soon new

news channel headed by Rajdeep Sardesai that now wants to capture Hindi

a strong base in a short period, its strategic tie-up with CNN-IBN and
the TV 18 Group will provide it a bigger platform. TV-18 hopes to be the

Kaun Banega Crorepati was followed by Kaun Banega Crorepat
Dwitya, can the Dwitya Great Indian Laughter Challenge
be far behind? Definitely not. In fact its back with a double measure
of fun, laughter and entertainment. The second phase of the
search for the best comic talent has been kicked off on Star One and the
show has received an overwhelming response. The 60 finalists shortlisted
will now engage in a battle of wit and humour to be crowned Hasi Ka
Badshah of 2006. Shekhar Suman and Navjot
Singh Siddhu return as judges, along with Parizaad Kolah, the host of
the show. It will have 18 episodes with a new look. The show will also feature
new aspects like 50/50 verdict by judges and viewers. There will also be
the SMS interactive element wherein the viewers can vote in to provide
an ousted competitor a lifeline. If the first season was a
platform for talented performers like Raju Srivastav, Sunil Pal and
Navin Prabhakar, the new season will spawn its own stars from the 60
finalists. For them this contest is no laughing matter as each vies to
be crowned king of comedy. NF |
