Purple prose

India’s broadsheets
are tabloids
overnight,
by magic.

Banish gray matter,
plodding prose.
Enter film stars
and yuppie patois.

Netas must take
back seat,
unless they
provide entertainment.

Women don’t show legs
in real life;
there is a surfeit of bare legs and more
in the newspaper world.

In an age
of virtual reality,
fiction is truth,
truth fiction.

Why not then demand
money for
printing
purple party prose?
