Noddy’s pal speaks Urdu

CHILDREN'S author Enid Blyton’s favourite cabbie of Toyland, Noddy will now have a robo pal who can converse in Urdu.

The playmate, called Whizz, will be multi lingual with the art of conversing in Chinese, Swahili, French and Spanish. Bosses of the TV show hope the character will help kids learn languages. They chose the five most common languages spoken in the UK.

"Whizz will introduce the word and its translation to Noddy and then encourage children at home to join in and say it with Noddy," a spokesman for the Five Show was quoted by the Sun, as saying.

Noddy made his screen debut along with pals Big Ears and PC Plod, made his screen debut in 1954. —ANI
