THE fifth edition of the national women managers’ convention would be held in Chennai on March 8 on the occasion of International Women’s day. "Women in
India:2020" was the the convention’s theme, Anita Gupta,
chairperson, Women Manager’s Forum, and Madras Management
Association Executive Director, Maj S. Lakshmanan, told reporters
here on Monday. "We want to approach the theme from the point
of view of the statement that women have arrived and the challenges
that lay ahead and how to face it", Gupta said. Besides,
eminent speakers, both women and men, from across various
disciplines will share their experiences "to inspire, reveal,
move and provoke dialogue and stimulate action", she
said. Some of the key speakers included Shobaa De, author and
columnist, Capt Saudamini Deshmukh, the first woman pilot of Indian
Airlines, Jayashree Vaidyanathan, Director, HCL Technologies and
Reema Nanavathy, SEWA, Lakshmanan said. — PTI
