Rhyme Time
Dawn of New Year

The New Year begins,

With first January of every year.

People call on their neighbours,

To exchange good wishes

with fervour.

On the New Year’s eve, there are

celebrations,

To welcome the coming year.

People distribute diaries and

calenders,

To friends and family members.

Television telecasts a series of

good and bad events of the year,

Everybody hopes for a prosperous

life during the whole year.

Back to school

Send my friend to school,

Where life is a colourful pool.

Where he learns what world is,

Where he learns what makes up

everything.

He will learn to read and write,

To stand atop in his life.

School is a temple,

Where he would get everything in ample.

Teachers are the guides,

Who enlighten their mind.

We say mathematics is frightening,

Science is enlightening.

English is easy,

Geography is teasy.

History is full of medieval times,

Civics is what we can’t decline.

Still, he would enjoy in school,

Which would make his life cool.

Educate him well,

Make him a better citizen.

Send him to school so that he

discovers new things of life,

Make him literate.

So that he becomes his own guide,

Help him learn the moral

values of life.

When he stands in world,

he should say with pride

“That I have done something

in my life”.
