Villagers force robbers to flee from godown
Mandi Ahmedgarh, December 18
Daring confrontation by alert villagers and labourers at a rice sheller, supported by the police, forced a gang of inter-state armed robbers to flee with a small booty of 83 bags of wheat from a state food agency-owned open complex godown, situated at Fauzewal village, near here, yesterday.
Watchmen to be replaced by
community police officers

With an intention to institutionalise an informal system prevalent in this part of Malwa, the Senior Superintendent of Police, Sangrur, has directed all circle officers and SHOs to mobilise social leaders of their respective areas to replace non-professional and unauthentic watchmen by community police officers.
TV most attractive media for

A study, ‘Relative impact of advertising media on consumer purchase behaviour’, conducted by Ms Pansy Puneet Kaur, an MBA student of PCTE here, reveals that consumers in the city bought most of the products, whose advertisements were flashed on television repeatedly.

Phagwara bypass stone to be laid on Jan 19

Protest march by pensioners

Pensioners from Sangrur marched through the streets of this town to protest against the alleged indifferent attitudes of the state government. Postal employees’ strike in Feb
