Couch potatoes are being spoilt for choice with an abundance of viewing riches. The flavour of the season seems to be middle class dreams. Whether it is Kituu Sabb Jaantii Hai on Sahara or Ek Ladki Anjaani Si on Sony or even Hum Paanch on Zee TV, they are all pandering to the joys and sorrows of the family-next-door. Star Plus is all set to break fresh ground with a business drama, Virasat, directed by Ravi (Baghbaan) Chopra. It is not to be mistaken with three earlier serials and a film of the same name. The serial revolves around Pooja Ghai Rawal who plays a former Miss India. "I am a person with an attitude because of winning the beauty pageant. There are also streaks of grey in my character," says Pooja. Ever since she burst on the small screen two years ago with three serials, Haatim, Kabhi Aaye Na Judaai and Dishayen, Pooja has been on a roll. Today she is a much in-demand star currently doing two serials Rabba Ishq Na Hove on Zee and Siddhant on Star One besides, she’s hosting Shikhar on Sony Television. Now she has the lead role in Virasat. So how does she cope with all this? "If producers have their way I’d be doing a dozen serials!" Self-evaluation or chest-thumping? Perhaps both. |
