This was the consensus at a national seminar on “Retail Management”, which concluded at the Guru Nanak Institute of Management and Technology here today. It was organised by the Punjab Commerce and Management Association (PCMA).

The speakers at the seminar urged the government to act immediately to allow foreign direct investment in retail sector in a phased manner. Most of the researchers also suggest certain guidelines regarding this issue for the smooth growth of retailing in the rural and urban sector.
