Mona Wasu: Assignment Islamabad
Mona Wasu: Assignment Islamabad

Mona Wasu, the protagonist in Millee, is over the moon these days. She has reasons to be. The bubbly Delhi girl has bagged a prestigious Pakistani serial, Rookhey Naina

Interestingly, more than the serial it is the prospect of staying in Pakistan for the shooting that is more exciting for her more. "My grandparents hailed from Vasu just a few hours from Islamabad. I am dying to visit the town with my parents after shooting."

Mona has joined a list of other leading ladies of television who have been lured by the small screen in Pakistan. The list of stars includes Nausheen Ali Sardar, who is doing Tere Ishq Mein with Juhi Parmar (Kumkum). Others who’ve crossed over Aamna Sharif, Kunika and Divya Dutta. In Rookhey Naina, Mona plays an Indian girl who goes to meet her father in Pakistan, falls in love with a boy there and then gets into all sorts of trouble with the authorities. A Pakistani version of Veer Zaara. Well, the similarities don’t sound very coincidental.
