4 killed, J&K ex-minister hurt in Srinagar blast
Srinagar, November 16
Four persons were killed and 63 injured in an IED explosion outside the Corporate Headquarters of Jammu and Kashmir Bank near the Tourist Reception Centre here this morning. Those injured, included a former Minister of state, Usman Majeed, 12 police personnel and 10 women the police said. More than 40 others, most of them officials of the bank were injured inside the premises due to breaking of glass panes by the impact of the explosion, while the guard at the main gate was among four persons killed.

Evict illegal occupants of govt houses in two months: SC
New Delhi, November 16
The Supreme Court today gave two months’ time to the Centre to evict all unauthorised occupants from government houses in the Capital and shift former ministers and now MPs to smaller houses. The court also asked the Delhi High Court to ensure the disposal of allotment-related litigation before it and subordinate judiciary during this period.

5,000 units of blood donated
Birth anniversary of Surinder Singh
Bhiwani, November 16
Thousands of admirers of late Surinder Singh today paid their tributes to the departed leader on his birth anniversary by donating blood at a camp organised here by his widow and Congress MLA from Tosham, Ms Kiran Chaudhary. The camp turned out to be one of the biggest camps organised in Haryana in the recent past. An estimated 5000 persons donated blood.
