rhyme time

Lovable Bapu

Mahatma Gandhi was known as the Father of the Nation,

And we see his pictures at almost every station.

He finished his early education in Rajkot,

And in South Africa as a barrister he worked in a court.

People admire him and his values,

In many places are his larger-than-life statues.

"Do or die" was the slogan that Gandhiji gave,

When Britishers had made Indians their slaves.

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was his full name,

To free India by practising non-violence was his aim.

On October 2, Gandhi Jayanti is celebrated every year,

We all know that he’ll always remain dear to us.

A true friend

Oh dear true friend where are you lost these days,

I am looking for you all the way.

Earlier, you were found everywhere.

Now you are nowhere near.

A true friend is one who gives us good advice,

To work hard and be good and nice.

A true friend is one,

Who makes us shine like the sun.

Fair-weather friends cheat us out of money,

But true friendship is like sweet honey.

Still I am waiting for the day,

When true friends will come my way.
