Huqa Pani from Pak

Ali Zafar is the new singer on the music scene today. This young Pakistani has come out with a melodious debut album Huqa Pani, recently released in India by Universal.

The album offers a wide range of compositions. The popular Channo number has powerful notes, while Jugnuon Se Bhar Le Aanchal comes in a mellower and softer pitch.

Besides singing, Zafar, who has done his graduation from Pakistan’s National College of Arts, dabbles in painting, modelling and acting. He won the best actor award for his role in the TV serial Kaanch Keh Per. — D.P.

Ricky Martin adopts three Kolkata kids

Latino pop star Ricky Martin has adopted three orphans from Kolkata, in an attempt to end child poverty. 

Ricky, who recently won acclaim by the US government for fighting dedicatedly to end child slavery, rescued the three street girls, by legally adopting them from a local orphanage at Kolkata.

"I loved Calcutta, it was really beautiful. I started working with an orphanage and I had the opportunity to rescue three girls from the streets," Rate the Music quoted the She Bangs singer as saying. — ANI
