Fury of floods

From the scorching heat to the fury of floods

The sun has hidden over the rain-loaded clouds

With lashing winds and blinding rains

Where to walk is puzzling our brains

The rivers, the khuds and the dirty drainage

Washing everything with it, causing great damage

The floods in Gujarat, caused great human tragedies

Where mothers were killed, and children clinging to their bodies

Food, clothing, medicines and shelter, all they need

But our political leaders are careless and full of greed

Whether heat, cold or rain, only the poor are dying

To save these helpless souls even the government is shying

Trust in God and let us do right

Let us help the poor with our full might.

Mother dear

Mother, Mother, Mother

This is the first word that the child does utter

Of her the child is quite fond

With her the child shares a unique love bond

She is his first teacher

The child’s mind she shapes like a potter

Our epics describe her as God

On her every wish we should nod

To prevent her child’s sob

She gives up her job

Whatever the situations

We should take care of her emotions
