THE RJD is thinking of using dolls of Lalu Prasad Yadav for publicity during the upcoming Assembly election campaign. Laluji is keen that this doll reaches every household. But it is still not clear how these dolls will find their way into each and every house. Will these be given to the children in schools, distributed in trains or will be made available in the market? Even if these dolls manage to reach the children I fail to imagine how it will influence the voters. Will each child insist, "Papa, Laluji ki party ko vote zaroor dalna"? The RJD is in contact with a Mumbai-based manufacturer to launch the toy just ahead of the elections. If the idea clicks, many more politicians might order their own dolls to cash on their images. When a doll of Pappu Yadav is handed over to a voter it will be a constant reminder to the voter, "Agar vote dalne na aaya to hamse bura koye nahin hoga!" For all you know if the RJD comes to power, the Rabri doll may soon replace the Barbie doll in the market. I feel that keeping a politician’s doll in one’s house is a good omen to ward off evil spirits. No evil spirit will dare coming near an Indian politician’s doll. I will surely keep Lalu Prasad’s doll in my house, not for any political reasons but out of respect for the great comedian. |
