Ludhiana, June 1
The district health administration today launched its month-long anti-malaria campaign by taking out an awareness rally.
Led by the Civil Surgeon, Dr Rajinder Kaur, the rally commenced from the Civil Surgeon’s office and passed through Old DMC road, Dandi Swami Chowk and Police Lines areas before culminating at the Guru Nanakpura Gurdwara dispensary at Kundanpuri.
Senior health officials, field staff and employees of the mass media education and the anti-larva wings of the department took part in the rally.
The marchers were carrying banners on preventive measures against malaria and other diseases breaking out in summer and rainy season.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Rajinder Kaur made an appeal to the people to guard against stagnant water and keep their surroundings clean so that they could save themselves from malaria, dengue and other diseases.
