Baby’s day out National Geographic’s new programming strategy is set to take viewers to their first home — the mother’s womb. In The Womb is an experience of life before birth. The show reveals the amazing process of creation as heart cells begin to beat, the nerve cells flicker to life and the senses develop. This Mother’s Day special to be aired on May 8 at 7 p.m. features pioneering medical imaging technology called 4-D ultrasound which shows the foetus as it sucks its thumb, blinks, yawns, smiles and moves in real time in the womb. Troubled doctor Though wisdom dawns on some much after the deed has been done in showbiz, it’s always smart to have a cool head on your shoulders. Take Vinod Singh for example, the Aayushmaan star who was shown the door after a spat with a studio hand. Today the young actor has reason to repent. Though the Cine and TV Artistes Association is said to have given him the clean chit, rumours are flying thick that serial makers have imposed an eight-year ban on him for his intemperate behaviour. The out-of-work star is in a denial mode and says Bollywood producers are approaching him with tailor-made script. So what’s stopping him from inking those deals? "I am examining the offers and will take up those that suit me," is his unconvincing reply. There are contrary rumours
that with the TRPs of the serial going into a tailspin, Cinevistaas is
planning to get Vinod Singh back as Dr Aayushmaan. But he says no one
has approached him for a possible comeback. So the wait goes on even as
the former doctor sits down to diagnose the root of his problems.
Channel surfing Quite unobtrusively she is turning into one of TV’s most redemptive stars. Her appeal is all-encompassing as she flits from one channel to another with an almost effortless ease. Dimple Inamdar does a cameo in Star Plus’s Kaalchakra, is seen in Star One’s Remix, did a pivitol role in Sony’s Sambhav Asambhav, now she’s resurfaced in Sahara One’s Prratima and is all set to appear in the lead role on Sab TV’s Uff Yeh Bahuraniyan. Star Plus, Star One, Sony, Sahara and Sab TV. What, nothing on Zee? Panic not! With the exit of Mihir Mishra from Kabhie Haan Kabhie Naa, new characters have been inducted in the story line, including Dimple Inamdar who plays Anaya, the love interest of a sauve, married business tycoon. That, you’d think, would
have completed the cycle of channels. But hold your breath. Dimple is on
a signing spree in Bollywood and is the lead character in Bharat
Dhabholkar’s stage comedy Oh No! Not Again! Which perhaps
explains why everybody’s saying she’s doing fine as an actress. —
