HERO Mindmine, part of the Rs 9,800 crore Hero Group, has plans to set up exclusive Advantage English Institutes in Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir to offer English language training programmes. The programmes will be offered in collaboration with DynEd International of the USA, a global leader in interactive English learning, according to a Press release.

The requirement for English language training is fuelled by the increase in international trade, mushrooming of MNCs and the rapidly expanding service industries, such as banking, retail, tourism, BPO, telecom and insurance in India, where there is a need for professionals to communicate in internationally understood English. It is estimated that over 100 crore people currently learn English worldwide. The global English language learning market is valued at more than Rs. 70,000 crores annually.

Announcing the expansion plans, Asheesh Gupta, Business Head, Hero Mindmine, said recently, "In India, the size of the English-training industry in India is expected to grow exponentially from the current estimate of over Rs. 1,000 crore annually due to growing opportunities for Indians to work both onshore and offshore which require proficiency in interactive English. To take advantage of this huge opportunity and help Indian youth prepare for the global marketplace, Hero Mindmine is expanding its network of centers to provide training in spoken English through our current venture."
