Anchors as partners
Most single men feel that women television news presenters can make ideal partners for them, according to a research. An analysis of 23,000 "matches" by two dating agencies revealed men believe that women journalists have the perfect potential because they are "quick thinking and intelligent" and concerned about the society. According to the research, single men are drawn towards news anchors, who have a heady mix of beauty and brains. "Women have carved out new territory as anchors in prime time news programmes, projecting charisma, brains and femininity," The Telegraph quotes the researchers as saying. "Although earning power may be important when choosing a mate, job satisfaction, authority, intelligence and concern with the human condition all rate highly with men and women when it comes to sex appeal among successful professionals," they added. In case of single women, they look for surgeons whose life-saving skills and authority are matched by their earning power. The dating and careers survey has been conducted by Mary Balfour, managing director of Drawing Down the Moon, a personal introduction agency. Men regard women
television directors as their second favourite choice while in the
third place are women working in human resources, who are seen as good
at dealing with people and relationships. Teachers, accountants,
social workers and the police were absent from the list. — ANI |
